Cloud Engineer

Job description
• Create, manage, and support secure enterprise environments in Azure, often leveraging AVD/VDI driven computing experiences and/or Azure Published Applications
• Configure and manage Virtual Networks in Azure, and in some cases work cooperatively with external partners in support of virtualized Azure or 3rd party cloud networking and appliances
• Utilize native Azure services to meet the firm’s technology and resiliency requirements
• Drive Identity and access and configuration management, and monitoring strategy for Azure
• Lead design process for network connectivity to Azure
• Extend relevant industry standards and management processes into the cloud including change, incident, and problem management
• Establish and implement monitoring and management infrastructure for both availability and performance management
• Assist to determine and predict recurring and non-recurring internal and external pricing for Azure virtual machines, and other Azure based resources to correctly forecast expense
• Learn and leverage partner-based Azure management tooling to extend the support of complicated systems to all levels of support staff who may not have extensive Azure experience
• Design and implement data protection options, including HA and BCP protection in Azure

Qualifying Experience
• 10+ years of experience as a full time IT professional
• 3+ years of experience designing and supporting Azure environments, including IaaS and PaaS
• Microsoft Azure Certification (MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure or equivalent)
• Hands on experience using the Azure administration portal
• Demonstrable experience deploying enterprise workloads to Azure
• Proficiency with PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages
• Hands-on experience with one or more configuration management systems such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise core services as well as cloud deployments of these services
• Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Enterprise software products and services
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Occasional need to walk around the office
